The library system is a department of the County, providing library services to the residents of Levy County.  The Library Services Coordinator and the Library Office Manager provide administrative support for the five library branches.

The five branches of the Levy County Public Library system each serve a unique community.  The library staff at each branch is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the library: collection, development, circulation and maintenance, seasonal displays, and supervision of volunteers.  They work closely with each branch's Friends of the Library Group to provide programming and other benefits of the library.  Four library buildings are owned and maintained by the municipalities in which they are located, while the fifth one is owned and maintained by a Women's Club.

The mission of the Levy County Public Library System is to provide access to quality information, resources and services in a variety of formats and technologies to enrich the lives of all the members of the communities that it serves.
