The Levy County Road Department maintains County Roads that are dedicated to the public and provides such services as grading, paving, re-surfacing, mowing, and tree trimming/removal on County Right of Ways.
The Road Department is responsible for road closings, plat reviews, subdivision inspections, and right of way surveying. They work in coordination with the Levy County Development Department to provide driveway permit inspections, and additionally work with phone utility companies for the permitting and installation of phone lines on County Right of Ways. The Road Department is also responsible for constructing and maintaining 911 address signs, speed limit signs, County Road Number signs etc., throughout the County as well as the channel markers that are placed in the Waccasassa. In order to have roads resurfaced Levy County Road Department staff have applied for and have been awarded several grants from the State of Florida to help in the maintenance of County Roads.
