LEVY COUNTY SHIP HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program (SHIP) has awarded $350,000 to Levy County

FY 2021-2022

STRATEGY #1 Down Payment/Closing Cost Home Purchase Assistance STRATEGY #2 Rehabilitation Repairs/Owner Occupied Homes STRATEGY #3 Disaster Mitigation

STRATEGY #4 Demolition/Reconstruction Administration $35,000

APPLICATION open on September 2, 2021 and ending when funds are expended:

Applications for Down Payment/Closing Cost Home Purchase Assistance are provided at the SHIP Office (612 E Hathaway Avenue, Bronson) after completion of an approved Home Buyer Education Class.

Applications for Rehabilitation Repairs/Owner Occupied Homes may be obtained from the SHIP Office located at 612 E Hathaway Avenue, Bronson or online at levycounty.org

Selection Criteria: Applications for the SHIP Program strategies must meet the following income requirements as well as other program guidelines:

Funds may not be used to purchase, repair, or rehabilitate mobile homes.

Total family income, assets, number of household members, credit worthiness and ability to secure a mortgage loan for a home are considered in the evaluation process to determine eligibility for down payment assistance to purchase a home.

Priority will be given to persons with special needs and developmental disabilities as defined in s. 393.063 (9), 420.0004 (13), 409.1451 (5) Florida Statutes.
